course we couldn't have done this without the help of our ever-resourceful PDG Ces Mendoza. Because of him, too, we have another new member in our roster in the name of Paul Clapp whom he sponsored. To our surprise Paul immediately became a Paul Harris Fellow and a Lifetime subscriber, too, to the PRM. Again, welcome to the best club Rotarian Paul, and to our Tito Ces…you never fail to amaze us!

     This Tuesday, November 13, 2001 is the opening of the training phase of our Community Based Disaster Management in Bangar, the venue is at the island barangay of Mindoro. The Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council, RDCC, Red Cross-LU Chapter, International Aid and Lorma Foundation will join us. This will be followed with Santo Tomas on November 17, 2001.
     November 19 will also be the opening of Module 1 of the Hospital Equipment Repair Training at Perpetual Help in Binan, Laguna.

     Last week we had a very lively meeting, not because our guest of honor and speaker PDG Mar Un Ocampo was good at entertaining with his jokes, but because he has this charm that never fails to attract people to listen whenever he speaks. As chairman of Rotary Foundation, he also gave us an inspiring message how Rotary Foundation has played a good part in uplifting the lives of our unfortunate brethrens. One example was Polio Plus, a project aimed at wiping out polio worldwide. In our district, we have the Vitamin A supplementation project which started two years ago and now in our club, the Hospital Equipment Repair Training, these are just to name a few of the grants that Rotary Foundation has sponsored. Another part of his role was of course, to promote the Philippine Rotary Magazine, one of the most well edited Regional Rotary Magazines. Well, his visit was also very fruitful that day as we turned over to the Editor in Chief of the Philippine Rotary Magazine thirteen (13) New Lifetime Subscribers putting our club on top with the most number of Lifetime Subscribers to the Phil. Rotary Magazine in the entire Philippines with a total of eighteen (18). Somebody even joked that the visits of PDG Mar has become too expensive…well it's for a worthy cause. Of
