Do you know that Rotary will turn 96 this Friday, February 23, 2001? Where is Rotary today on its 96th Anniversary? Past RI General Secretary Harry Stewart wrote that "one could in truth respond that it is where it started - in the minds and hearts and hands of thoughtful service minded men in a growing number and wide variety of places around the world."
If Rotary is to be effective, wrote Sec. Stewart, it must succeed in each locality, it must begin with you and me and our fellow Rotarians around the world, as individuals involved in the four avenues of Rotary service. We must not only take an introspective view of our own Rotary life but also concern ourselves with efforts to undertake the dedication and commitment to Rotary needed to implant in the members the ideal of individual responsibility, opportunity and obligation.
