The always punctual PP TONY was the Master of Ceremonies and Sec. DIEGO served as the Day Chairman for the regular luncheon meeting of RCSFU. Pres. JEROME called the meeting to order at 12:35. The MC, PP TONY, "filled in" and led us in the opening prayer. Rtn. ALEX then led us in the Pambansang Awit.
After a very very short luncheon period, YOURS TRULY was called upon to do the ever so friendly fining session. Yes, that is right, even before the Welcome and Greetings. I think PP CRES was waiting on some birthday celebrants to arrive or something. At any rate, back to the fining session, the topic was "Knowing the new Rotarians", plus a few other questions about politics in the U.S. and here in the Philippines, for which no one knows the answer. All in all, it was a fun time, as it always is.
PP CRES did lead us in the Welcome and Greetings and there was only one celebrant who showed up for the meeting. Birthday congratulations goes to Jasmin, who is the Rotary Ann of PP REY. Thanks for the ice cream, PP REY. We needed that..... Pres. Tessie of the IWCSFU was present and announced that all the Rotarians were invited to the Christmas Party of the IWCSFU. That is nice of the ladies to include all the Rotarians.
PD TIM presented the winners of the extemporaneous speech contest and gave each one certificates and cash prizes. Special congratulations should go to these young Rotaractors. They did a fine job. Pres. JEROME brought us up-to-date on what has been happening in the world of Rotary, especially RCSFU.
Sec. DIEGO was called upon to introduce our Guest of Honor and Speaker, none other than PDG NELSON Yuchongtian. PDG NELSON is currently serving as the District Chairman on Rotary Foundation, which was a position held by our very own PDG CES for the past nine years. As was expected, PDG NELSON spoke very eloquently on the subject of Rotary Foundation and the need to continually recruit new Paul Harris Fellows. PDG NELSON's speech was short and nice with a very productive open forum that followed.
PD PAQUING gave a very nice and appropriate response as he always does. The meeting was adjourned at 2:10 P.M.
