With his dreams and head held high, he took the biggest step of his life and moved to San Fernando City, La union to begin a new life.  He left a very comfortable and upwardly mobile position with a multinational corporation to pursue the business challenge of an emerging market and to be with the woman-whom he fell in love with.  We are talking about none other than our new Rotarian-ALLAN A. ALVAREZ.  ALLAN last lived in  San  Francisco,  CA. where he earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Telecommunications from the University of San Francisco.  His experience includes working as a Financial Analyst in Corporate Planning, as well as, assuming the role of Finance Webmaster for Siemens Business Communication Systems in Silicon Valley.  ALLAN currently provides financial consulting for various companies seeking medium to large-scale project financing through his online business- San Francisco Venture Enterprises ( www.sfve.com ).

ALLAN is married to Rotarian Rhoda Marie B. Yabes-Alvarez who had reintroduced him to life in the Philippines including participation in the Rotary.  Today, ALLAN and RHODA are starting a café called Café BIZ at the second floor of Yabes North Paseo.  The café will provide services that combine some of the couple's favorite things; computers, internet & business services, delicious food and fine coffee drinks; such as cappuccino and espresso.

ALLAN hopes to begin a family in the new millenium and to rediscover  the country from which he came but never really familiar with, ( ALLAN and his family migrated to the US when he was just 10 ).  He hopes to contribute to the Rotary much in the same way as his father-in-law, PP RUDY has done in the past and possibly someday.....…" becomes better than the father-in-law! "
