As is our custom, Pres. ALBERT rang the bell at precisely 12:30 to start the regular weekly meeting of RCSFLU.  The Day Chairman and MC, PP PAQUITO, then called Rtn. FREDERICK to lead us in the Pambansang Awit followed by Rtn. JUN who led us in the very nice prayer.  I like the prayer…….

After a very short luncheon break, Rtn. JERRY officially greeted all of our visitors and birthday and wedding celebrants for the day.  The only celebrant present was Asst. Ed. ROMY D.  All the others were out celebrating somewhere.  Oh yes, thanks to IWC Pres. LINA who sent us the double scoop of ice cream via-e-mail in celebration of her birthday.  I am still trying to figure out how she did that.  Thanks for the ice cream. We needed that….

During PP TONY's Secretary's Report, he informed the Club of several raffles that are on going, especially RCSFLU's for  Paul Harris Fellow to be raffled off during our Anniversary meeting. PP TONY then charged PP CANOR with the task of collecting on the raffle pledges that have already been made .Every Rotarian needs to participate in this special raffle.  It goes toward a most worthy cause.  Good luck and God Bless  You.

Rtn. TANTE's Friendship Session dealt with questions about TV characters.  The problem is that most of the TV characters I never even heart about.  Oh well, it seemed that most of our Rotarians knew the answers.  Pres. ALBERT, who reminds me of the Rabbit for the Energizer Battery  commercial who never runs out of energy, gave his very active report.  Pres. ALBERT thanked everyone who has helped in the various projects that the Club has undertaken , and there have been many already.  Pres. ALBERT is a busy man....and he is keeping the rest of us busy.  He believes in the old saying:  "Idle hands are the Devils workshop."

PP RUDY was asked to introduce our Guest of Honor and Speaker, Atty. RICARDO S. MARTINEZ, SR.  Atty. Martinez is the Region 1 Director of the Department of Labor and Employment.  He brought the Rotarians up-to-date on the latest information concerning the recent  rounds ;of wage hikes in the country and more particularly in our region.  Director Martinez solicited the opinions of Rotarians and encouraged business leaders to submit position papers to his office on the subject.  Thank you Dir. Martinez for taking time out of your busy schedule to be with us in our Rotary meeting.

Asst. Editor ROMY DE. gave a very nice response. After all, Rtn. ROMY DE. is a minister.  The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 P.M. and all the Rotarians went out into the beautiful sunshine
